Jordan Rudolph
Owner, Head Fitness Coach, CPT

Jordan holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where he majored in physics with a biomedical concentration.  His schooling and 2 semesters of research on ACL tear frequency in females provided Jordan with a background geared towards biomechanics.  His passion for movement quality and better living led him down a path towards personal training rather than physical therapy.  It was clear that personal training was his true calling after he started training part-time at a local gym here in La Crosse.
Jordan is the founder of Unity Fitness, La Crosse’s first true training facility that helps people move better, feel better, and look better by specializing in weight loss, movement, and performance.   Jordan originally created Unity Fitness as an online coaching program aimed to unify the health and fitness goals by creating customized workouts and meal plans for its members.  This ultimately led to creating a facility that not only held on to these values, but also added community and hands-on coaching and support to help unify health and fitness.
Jordan has worked with over 200 clients and holds numerous fitness certifications and specialties which include Precision Nutrition, TRX Suspension Trainer, Golf Fitness Specialist, and more.  He specializes in fat loss, movement, nutrition, and golf performance and has been featured in the IDEA Fitness Journal.

 

Mandy Haugstad
Manager, Pn1

Mandy runs the ship that is known as Unity Fitness.  She holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where she majored in psychology and minored in biology.  Her passion for fitness was truly unlocked when she began personal training a few short years ago because she learned that you can have fun with exercising along with the improvements that it has made on her life.  Mandy brings excellent operational management skills as well as a creative mindset and insight to our team.

 

Emily O’Connor
Fitness Coach,NSCA-CPT, Pn1 

Emily holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where she majored in exercise and sports science and minored in nutrition and business administration. Following graduation in May 2016, she completed an internship with USAA in Colorado Springs, before ultimately returning to the La Crosse area.

She has a large background in group exercise instruction and personal training while working at a variety of onsite wellness centers. In addition to holding certifications as a Health Coach and in Precision Nutrition, Emily is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

She began her journey with Unity to continue to share her love of health and fitness with the members of the La Crosse community. Her primary goal is to encourage people to build lifelong healthy living habits that fit within each individual’s lifestyle, while supporting each other along the way.

Kayla Sandvik
Fitness Coach, NASM-CPT

Kayla holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University, where she majored in Kinesiology and minored in Coaching.  Kayla attained her CPT through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), and started her journey as a fitness coach with Unity Fitness in November of 2017. Currently, Kayla is working towards a career in Occupational Therapy, and plans to graduate from Western Technical College as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the Spring of 2019. Health and wellness have always been a passion of Kayla’s.  Helping individual’s find their path towards maintaining, adapting, and/or improving their overall mind and body’s wellbeing is something she strives to do on a daily basis. That’s a big part of why she chose the career paths that she has. One of her favorite quotes in life is one by Oprah Winfrey, “Step out of the history that’s holding you back, and step into the new story you are willing to create.” She hopes to inspire individuals in the health field the way this quote has inspired her. With that said, she plans on maintaining her certification through NASM and continue working as a fitness coach even after beginning a career as a COTA, as she feels this profession is some of the most rewarding work an individual can do.

Katie Koepsel
Fitness Coach – NSCA-CPT

 Katie holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she competed in softball and majored in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Strength and Conditioning. She then went on to complete her Masters in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management as a Sports Performance Graduate Assistant at the University of Central Missouri.

Katie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Currently, she is an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Katie began her journey at Unity Fitness to pursue her passion and to help people achieve their goals. Her mission is to create professional relationships by educating the “Why” and cultivating a positive atmosphere with energy and compassion.  

Joe McGlynn
Fitness Coach – NSCA, CPT

Joe holds two degrees in exercise science, one coming in the form of a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Viterbo University, and the other in the form of a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Joe’s education included many hours of practical application in rehabilitation, general training, and sports performance training.

While at UW-L as a graduate student, Joe assisted at the Sports Performance Center with most competitive sports, as well as both developing and facilitating training programs for the men’s basketball program. Joe completed an internship at D1 Sports in Green Bay, where he trained both adults and athletes in all facets of the training experience to wrap up his time at UW-L. Joe recently served as the Director of Strength & Performance at Wisconsin MASH in Greenville, WI, where he oversaw all facets of the training experience. This experience mainly included working with high school level baseball and softball athletes.

Joe has a large background in training both adults and collegiate/high school athletes. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Joe seeks to continue the certification process by expanding into other certifications in the near future.

Joe’s primary goal is to provide the best training environment to ensure quality, progressive training. He believes that with any goal, nothing is impossible. “As individuals, we are not created equal, but we all can be here to support and grow together in our own journey’s”. Joe aspires to create a culture where every member is accomplished and confident in who they are.

Matt Haberl
Physical Therapist, DPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS, FAAOMPT 

Professional Picture singleDr. Matt Haberl is a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Specialist and professional educator. He graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA in 2004 with his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training and Exercise Science. While at Simpson College he was a part of the playoff contending Simpson Storm Football Team and became Certified in Strength and Conditioning through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Interested in continued pursuit of further professional growth he went on to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program graduating in 2008. Here he had the opportunity to complete a clinical internship at the United States Coast Guard training and treating our cadets as they went through their summer boot camp training.

Dr. Haberl then completed his Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Training in 2010 and his Fellowship in Manual Therapy with Evidence in Motion in 2012. He now specializes in neuromusculoskeletal (a tongue twister!) rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. He offers a unique perspective to restoring an individual’s optimal pain free movement with the use of the Functional Movement Screen, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, integrating a variety of different manual therapy techniques including functional dry needling, joint manipulation and mobilization, hands on and instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization complimented with a variety of corrective exercises with the use of a variety of tools (TRX, Kettle Balls, Sports Bands, Med Balls, Foam Rollers, etc.)

In addition to seeing individuals at Unity Fitness he also treats patients at a local healthcare facility. There he sees a variety of patients from acute low back and neck pain and sports related injuries in a vast array of patients from youth sports to semi-pro athletes and our middle age working population.

Outside of the sports rehabilitation and enhancement he does specialize in more persistent pain populations including chronic low back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome ect.
